Edwin E. (Uncle Bud) Young, 80, of Silvis, Illinois passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Per his wishes there will be no visitation or services. He will be laid to rest at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the family.
Edwin was born on June 29, 1937 to Leo and Freda (Siems) Young in Neillsville, Wisconsin. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1960-1966. He was united in marriage to Shirley Martin on July 10, 1997. Edwin worked for Oscar Mayer for over 30 years before retiring. In January, 2002 he went on to work as a specialized transportation service operator for Metro Link Transportation in Illinois for 9 years. He retired from driving in December, 2010. Ed (Uncle Bud) had a great sense of humor, charming personality, and loved to make people happy. He loved fishing, his dogs, family, and classic cars. He will be truly missed by those lucky enough to know him. Those left to cherish his memory are several loving nieces, nephews, his step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, brothers Donald, Leo, Robert, Richard, and Jerry Young, sisters Yvonne Garrow, and Jacqueline Linka, and sister-in-law Delores Young.
