She was born in Omaha, Texas to Clem and Martha Vaught. She grew up on an East Texas farm with her older brother, Earven Vaught, older sister, Vonnie Lee Vaught Goates, and younger sister, Elva Vaught Reimers. Clemy graduated from Omaha High School in 1935.
She married Howard Bailey Traylor in October 1937. Howard and Clemy were married for 61 years before his passing in June 1999. Clemy was a superb homemaker, fantastic cook, skilled seamstress showing her love for her family in all her daily activities. She was known by others for her sweet smile and her kind hospitality. Clemy had a strong faith in the Lord that guided her daily, setting an example for her family and others.
Clemy is survived by her son, Jerry, and her daughters, Janice and Kay. Clemy will be fondly remembered by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
