James Dennis Banton was born on January 12, 1943 in Guthrie, Kentucky, the son of Amos Zelma "Pete" Banton (1913-1976) and Mable Lee (Weakley) Banton (1917-1993).
He served in the US Air Force and was a certified electrician. His passions included raising game roosters, drag racing and skeet shooting.
Still living in Guthrie, James was 75 years old when he passed away on May 7, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, while survivors included a married son, married daughter, a sister in Athens AL, six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Funeral Services were held at Cook-Webb Funeral Home, and burial was in Highland Cemetery.
