On November 13, 2009, Carlton Bigelow claimed the final victory as he left his temporal home to enter into the everlasting kingdom kingdom of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Waiting with open arms to welcome him home were his beloved wife, Anita Jones Bigelow, as well as Carl's parents E.R. Bigelow and Isabell Spinks Mcintosh Bigelow Keys. Preceding Mr. Bigelow in death were his first wife, "Evelyn Shaw Bigelow, as was as several brothers: Randolph Bigelow, Woodrow Bigelow, Alfred Mcintosh, Clark Mcintosh, Raymond Mcintosh and William Mcintosh. Also preceding Mr. Bigelow in death was his "Little Angel" and grand-daughter, Tonya' E. Trichel. Family members left to cherish memories include his children; daughter,' Dianne Trichel and husband, husband, Louis, of Shreveport, LA, and son, Johnny L. Dollar and wife, Rebecca, of Greenwood, LA. Mr. Bigelow also leaves brother, John A. Bigelow and wife, Nancy of Valdosta, GA; and, sister-in-law, Mildred Mcintosh of Manassas, VA. Grandchildren include, Jason R. Trichel and wife, Ginger, of Dallas, TX, Jeremy T. Dollar and wife, Stephanie, and Jennifer Dollar of Shreveport, LA. Other family members include include brother-in-law, Odean Jones and wife, Peggy of Monroe, LA; brother-in-law, Leroy Jones and wife Gracie of Winnsboro, LA; brother-in-law, Jimmy Dale Jones and sister-in-law, Dottie Cartwright and husband husband Bill of Monroe, LA, and sisters-in-law, Elaine Jones and Joy Jones of Monroe, LA and Melba Jones of Ruston, LA; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins are left to .share and cherish the memories, Mr. Bigelow was born December 19, 1931 and was raised in the Manassas, VA area. He entered the USAF on December 27, 1950 and served with pride, integrity and dignity until his retirement retirement as a Master Sergeant on January 1, 1971. Mr. Bigelow served his country with honor and bravery during the Vietnam War. He was a Lifetime Member of Post 66, American Veterans having served as Finance Officer and 1st Vice Commander. Mr. Bigelow was a member member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ in Monroe, Monroe, LA. He resided in the Monroe area for 34 years until locating to Shreveport in May of 2005. Mr. Bigelow's family would like to say thank you to his extended Church Family for their years of friendship, caring and prayers. Visitation for Mr. Bigelow will be on Tuesday, November 17th beginning at 5:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Bro. Terry Ware will officiate the Homecoming Service on Wednesday, November 18th at 1:00 PM with interment following immediately at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnny Dollar, Jeremy Dollar, Jason Trichel, Rusty Mcintosh, Bill Cartwright, and Odean Jones. , Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
