Rebecca Mershon Harrison Turner 77 of Statesboro, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at Eagle Health and Rehab Retirement Home. She was born August 16, 1940 in Statesboro, GA to the late Andrew Clarke “Skeebo” Harrison and Alice Virginia Hudson Harrison. Mrs. Turner had lived most of her childhood and adult years in Savannah. Her paternal grandparents were the late Green B. Harrison and Sallie Francis Clarke Harrison from Wrightsville, GA.
Rebecca graduated from Savannah High School and then she attended Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon, GA. She was a avid reader and writer all of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savannah where her father was a deacon. She was a member of the Harrison Families of Georgia, Inc.Her family appreciated especially all the loving care and concern from the members of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro and the retirement home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Brian Turner; a son, Clarke Nobles Docray; a brother, Carnage B. Harrison, II.
A private family burial will be held by her family at Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville at a later date.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be given to Brown Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund at 47 South Valley Street, Wrightsville, GA 31096
Brantley Funeral Home of Wrightsville has charge of local arrangements.
