Alan Roy Anfinson, 70, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, as a result of three recent heart attacks.

Alan was born August 9, 1943 in Charleston, son of Rudolph and Carolyn Anfinson. He is survived by one brother, Gordon Anfinson of Springfield, IL, and one sister, Carol Anfinson Brown of Aurora, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Alan was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, and had attended the University of
Chicago. He designed, manufactured, and sold furniture. Alan was a furniture store owner,
first Upstairs Furniture, and later Woodie Alan’s, in Charleston, Urbana, and Champaign.

Alan had a gift for growing beautiful peonies, and had traveled extensively around the world.
