A beautiful young woman left us and is brightening heaven with her smile. Amber LeAnn Lawrence passed away suddenly on November 21, 2017 at the age of 32. She was born September 23, 1985 to Allen and Susan Lawrence in Ogden, Utah. She was the middle child of 3 siblings. She grew up in Roy and lived in Layton. She even spent some time in Germany.

Amber graduated from Roy High School and studied mathematics and physics at Weber State University. Amber never married, but she spent 11 years with Toby Bright and they had 3 children, whom she adored with all of her heart. She also enjoyed spending time with Toby’s children and grandchildren and loved them dearly.

Family and friends meant a lot to her. She was a free spirit, who had such a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. She loved to swim, hike, cook, and play with her children and nieces. She enjoyed music, reading about any number of subjects, and working construction. She was masterful at laying tile in bathrooms and kitchens for her job flipping houses. Amber loved pictures and posted many of them on Facebook: pictures of her children, cousins, nieces, other family members, friends, and anything and anyone of interest to her. She enjoyed capturing the happy moments in her life and it was beautifully exhibited online for all to see and admire.

Amber had such a sweet compassion for others, especially when it came to family. She moved in with her dad when he was dying just so she could take care of him. She stood by him and cared for him, praying the whole time a miracle would happen that would keep him in this world longer. She took care of her mother when she had her brain aneurysm. Her selfless acts were something we will all deeply remember about Amber. She felt things so deeply and helped out so intensely so others wouldn’t feel so much pain, even if it meant hiding her own.

Her cousin Thursday said it best a few days ago: “There are no words for this ever deepening pit of pain in my heart. I am not one to pray but I will pray for you . . . I know your Daddy was right there to catch you! I pray that your baby sister’s excitement-filled giggles and warm hugs keep you from missing us left behind. We’ll all gladly follow you one day because nothing can stand between a love so true, and life just isn’t the same without you. Heaven was a fairytale two days ago, but now I know it has to be true because it’s the only place perfect enough for you.”

She leaves behind her children: Treyson 11, Toby 8 and Jayllena 18 months; her mother, Mary Susan (Ward) Lawrence; her brother, Justin (Jennifer) Lawrence; her nieces: Shea Lynn 10 and Aurora 7; her grandparents, Melvin and Margaret “Sherry” Lawrence; her children’s father, Toby Bright; Toby’s children: Colten, Cassidy, and Cayden and his 3 granddaughters: Colbie, Kaydence, and Evangeli; her uncles: Richard “Buddy” Lawrence, Joey (Christy) Ward, Pete (Kathy) Grimsley, Evan (Becky) Ward; her aunts: Lisa (Brandon) Hansen, Linda Lawrence, Sissy (Ward) Thornley; her cousins: Thursday Thornley, Breean Thornley, Nathan Ward, Cassie Lawrence, Carlie (Gregg) Pedersen, Cammie (Colton) Owen, Crystal Leonard, Dallas Elder, Dakota Elder, Saylor Hansen; and additional family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Mary E. Ward; her father, Allen Jay Lawrence; her sister, Lacey Lawrence; and her cousin, Derek Grimsley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Lindquist Roy Mortuary, 3333 W 5600 S. Friends may visit family on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to services.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Amber Lawrence Memorial Fund at America First Credit Union. The family extends a sincere thank you for all who have loved this dear woman taken from us too soon.
