His loving wife, Norma, predeceased him in September 1998.
He is survived by his sons: Dan (Jr.) and Bradlee; and daughter, Elizabeth (Liza).
Dan was born July 26, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Robert and Frances Hamilton Harrison, and after graduating from high school, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 18.
Through his 26 years of service he was posted to Syracuse, New York (twice); Landstuhl, Germany; Incirlik, Turkey; San Antonio, Texas (twice); Brindisi, Italy; Fort Meade, Maryland; Salina, Kansas; Thailand; Misawa, Japan; and finally retiring at Offutt AFB, near Omaha, Nebraska.
Following retirement, he and his wife and children moved to Burley, Idaho. A few years later he was recruited by the Boys Scouts of America as an executive, serving Honolulu,Hawaii for several years.
After the passing of Norma, Dan moved to Brookings, Oregon but his Alzheimer's diagnosis resulted in his eventual transfer to Twin Falls so he could be close to his daughter, Liza, and son, Brad.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Rasmussen Funeral Home,1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with the Rev. Father Rand Fagg officiating.
Burial will follow at Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley.
