Wilma L. Victor, 68, of Idabel, Okla., died Monday, Nov. 30, 1987, at Wadley Regional Medical center in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Idabel, Okla., to George and Nancy Victor. She grew up in the Idebel area and lived in several areas of the country as an adult while working in the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
She was head of the department of academics and principal at Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City from 1949 to 1961.
She then was superintendent of the school from April 1964 until April 1971.
She served in the U.S. Women's Army Corps (WAC) during 1943-46.
She also was a member of the American Association of School Administrators, Utah Governor's Advisory Committee on Women's Programs, and Utah TB and Health association.
She saw service as well on the Utah State Conference on Social Welfare, Council for Exceptional children, and BIA advisory committee for Title II of the Elementary and Secondary Education act.
She attended the University of Kansas and University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, earning a BS degree. She later received an M.Ed. degree from the University of Oklahoma, and a doctorate at Utah State university.
She received the Federal Women's award in 1957, district service citation from the University of Oklahoma for sustained record of outstanding service to Oklahoma and the nation in 1969.
She was one of seven "Women of the 70's" selected by the Salt Lake Tribune, and was listed in several national publications.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the First Baptist church in Idabel with Rev. Mike Ford and Tom Silva conducting the service.
Burial will be in Denison cemetery in Idabel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wilma Victor memorial scholarship fund for an Indian girl, in care of Norwood Funeral home, Idabel, Okla., 74745.
