son of Sherman M. Bisby and Francis M. ‘Fannie’ Schump Bisby of Herington, KS. Richard was a graduate of St. John’s Catholic grade school. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. In 1952, he married Anne M. Reisig and they had two children by this union.
Richard worked for the Rock Island and Burlington Northern Railroads in Herington until his retirement. He was a lifelong Heringtonite until the death of his wife, Anne. In 1989, he moved to the Truman Lake area. He married Doris Brewer in 1995. He and Doris enjoyed the rural lifestyle until his death.
Richard is survived by his spouse, Doris; two children, Nancy and Bruce (Vicki); 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis (Pam) and oh yes, his constant companion, Buddy, a Jack Russell terrier.
