He was a native of Lombard, IL and moved to Louisville with his family in 1967.
Ron was a 1969 graduate of Eastern High School, attended University of Louisville Speed School and Georgia Institute of Technology. He was a 1976 graduate of the University of Louisville Medical School, and after 3 years of residency, practiced family medicine in Middletown for over 30 years.
His many interests included collecting vintage Pontiacs, music, playing the trombone in the Doctors Band, worldwide travelling, and spending time at his home in Florida.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Hamm; brother, Richard "Ricky" Hamm; and son, Shawn Hamm.
Ron is survived by his father, Lloyd Hamm; son, Aaron Hamm, mother of his children, Amy Hamm, and his longtime companion, Carol.
Visitation will be 11am-1:30 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville. Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm Friday at the funeral home with burial following at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Mariposa Place, 1520 Baxter Ave. Louisville, KY. 40205.
