Darrell Austin Green, 74, of Pineville, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his residence following a long illness. Darrell was a member of the Pineville Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the NRA and UMWA. He enjoyed reading, hunting, traveling and being with his family.
Born February 1, 1937, in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Oscar Austin Green (1913-1991) and Rachel Jane Tilley-Green (1917-2010). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theda Vivian "Bib" Tilley-Green (1940-2010) whom he married on March 14, 1959 in Keyrock, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1959, Page 502, Application Date: March 4, 1959); a daughter, Victoria Green-Sneed (Deceased); a son, Timothy Austin Green (1960-2006); and his father-in-law, Boyd W. Tilley (1914-2006).
Survivors include a son, Craig Green and his wife Tina Green of Timmons, Ontario, Canada; a daughter-in-law, Kris Green of Topeka, KS; a brother, Rev. Glenn Lee Green (1938-2012) and his wife Sharron "Sue" McGraw-Green (1941-2018), of Pineville; his mother-in-law, Gyneth Tilley of Pineville; five grandchildren, Matthew Green, Adam Leacock, Miranda Leacock, Cutter Green and Courtney Green-Boyd; two great-grandchildren, Forrest Boyd and Fischer Boyd; and several close nieces, nephews and cousins.
