There will be a graveside service for Judith at 2 p.m.Thursday at Danville National Cemetery. The Rev. Steven Loftus will officiate. Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is handling arrangements.
Judith was born in Danville on July 31, 1938, to Clarence and Mildred (McCollum) Rogers. She married John David Stevens Jr. on June 8, 1956, in Covington, Ind. He preceded her in death Aug. 18, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gerald Rogers.
She is survived by her four children, Patricia Grindley of Cedarburg, Wis., Jeff (Jody) Stevens of Menomonie, Wis., Jack Stevens of Albuquerque, N.M., and Josh Stevens of Normal; four grandchildren, Paul (Amanda) Grindley, Brett Grindley, Kristi (Jason) Wilmes and Kimberly (Jonny) Kertulis; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Claresse “Tiny” Hobaugh of Foley, Ala., and Linda Carrington of Danville.
Judith volunteered for many years as the librarian at Holy Family School, Danville. She was also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and more recently attended St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna. She enjoyed her family and friends, cooking, gardening, music and her dog, Toby.
Memorial contributions may be made to Schlarman Academy, Danville, or the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
