Wife of Harlow A. Butler, mother of Joyce, Jane (Lock), and Gary Butler.

The funeral for Leona M. Butler, 63, of 6036 S. Main St., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Summerville Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynton Perry, pastor of the First Free Methodist Church of Watertown, officiating. Burial will be in Wesleyan Cemetery, Lacona.

Mrs. Butler was pronounced dead Friday afternoon at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, from injuries she suffered that afternoon in a collision between a car and a tractor-trailer in Mannsville. She was a passenger in the car, driven by her fiance, Paul F. Juiliani, Watertown. He was listed in stable condition at Samaritan Medical Center.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 1997 Harwood Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

In addition to her fiance, Mrs. Butler is survived by a son, Gary M., Mexico; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jane) Locke, Watertown, and Mrs. Marvin (Joyce) Nemier, Sandy Creek; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Kinney, Plainville; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Thelma Crast, died Oct. 11, 1988.

She was born April 20, 1932, at Sandy Creek, daughter of George and Blanche Claflin Kinney. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1950.

She married World War II veteran Harlow A. Butler on July 15, 1950, at Sandy Creek. Mr. Butler, a truck driver for Blount Lumber Co., Lacona, died July 25, 1979, at 52.

Mrs. Butler was a lifelong resident of Sandy Creek. She was a licensed beautician and operated a beauty shop out of her home.

She also was employed as a cleaner at the Sandy Creek Central School for 15 years until her death.

She was a member of Cable Trail Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 8534, Lacona. She was a member of the non-instructional staff at Sandy Creek Central School and a member of the National Educational Association of New York.
