Lloyd H. Wood, 65, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.

Lloyd was born on July 20, 1952, in Effingham, Illinois, to Hilton and Harriet (Bass) Wood. He was united in marriage to Sue Peters on March 17, 1979 in Effingham, Illinois.
Lloyd graduated from Effingham High School in 1970 and from Lake Land College with an Associate Degree in Mathematics. Lloyd served his country in the Army while stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam War. He loved his yearly visits to Harsens Island, Michigan. Lloyd's love for boating and fishing led him and Sue to live on Lake Sara for their entire 39 years of marriage. He also loved his flowers and taking care of them around their home. Lloyd's pride and joy was his only child, Joshua Wood. He was the most patient and loving father and husband that any family could ever wish for.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Sue Wood and son, Joshua. He leaves his parents Hilton and Harriet Wood and Sue's mother, Florence Peters all of Effingham, Illinois; brother, Alan (Pam) Wood of Bloomington,IIIllinois; sister, Debra Williams of Kaiser, Missouri; brothers-in-law, William (Nancy) Peters of Chesterfield, Missouri; Tim (Christy) Peters of Plano, Texas; Rick (Karen) Peters of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; and Patrick (Shelley) Peters of Argyle, Texas. He leaves one aunt, Helen Putterbaugh of Ohio along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William I. Peters.
