Jody Maree Brown, 57, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Mercy West Lakes in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at McLaren's Chapel, 801 - 19th St. West Des Moines, with entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at McLaren's.

Jody was born in Des Moines, Iowa on September 2, 1958 the daughter of Jack and Joyce Brown. She was a 1976 graduate of Valley High School. She was baptized at First Baptist Church in Des Moines on December 24, 1991. Due to a number of health issues she had been unable to work for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Lynn; granddaughters, Emily Maree and Alexis Renee; father and step-mother, Jack and Nancy Brown; brother, Jon; long-time companion, Timothy Dace; and several nieces and nephews. Jody was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Maree and her infant daughter, Dawn Maree.

The family wishes to thank her faithful long-time friend, Becky Harper, for her kindness to Jody and Jody's family during her final days.

Memorial contributions may be given to Susan G. Komen Iowa for breast cancer research.
