Sandra Beers Ellis
Sandra Beers Ellis, 76, of 902 Beers Road, Ulster, Pa., passed away Sunday evening, May 6, 2018 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. Sandra was born in Sayre on April 2, 194,2 the daughter of the late John M. and Naomi Cox Beers.
She attended the SRU schools and in early years provided child care service for area families and cared for the elderly in their homes. Sandra was formerly employed by several area restaurants and by the Label Processing Company in Sayre for eight years. Sandra loved children and enjoyed hosting family picnics at her home.
Surviving are her sister, Cynthia Blow of Sayre, brother, Philip Beers of Elmira, N.Y., brother and sister-in-law, John R. and Patricia Beers of Athens, Pa., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Arthur P. "Artie" Ellis on September 22, 2014, brother, Arthur Beers, sisters and brothers-in-law, Hila and Gale Furman and Althea and Henry Morganstern.
The funeral service will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at noon at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Pastor Seth Urey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Burlington Township, Pa.
The family suggests that contributions may be directed to the Athens Health Care Center Resident Activities Fund, 200 S. Main St. Athens, PA 18810 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern PA Regional Office, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 in memory of Sandra Beers Ellis.
