Janey McRae, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born on January 6, 1928, in Dallas, Texas.
She died May 5, 2018, at Autumn Leaves Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Ms. McRae was the daughter of Magnus Ludwig Colwick and Lottie Jane Johnson.
She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.
She was married to Peter Byron McRae (deceased) for 58 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Randi McRae of Henderson; her son Peter Byron McRae, Jr. & wife Sherilyn, of Katy; son John Daniel McRae & wife Angela, of Cypress; grandsons, Byron (wife Lisa), Brant, and Lance McRae; granddaughters Emily and Ashley McRae; and great grand-daughters, Evelyn, Abigail, and Isabelle McRae; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Janey was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church since 1972. She sang in the choir and was active in prayer chain.
She was an active volunteer in numerous civic and charitable functions including the Henderson Thrift Shop and Meals on Wheels.
Graveside services for Ms. McRae will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Rusk County Memorial Gardens with Pastor Shawn Heatherly officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at the funeral home.
