Wallace Gerald "Wally" Hill, 76, of Mebane, N.C. and formerly of Bassett completed his journey and went to be with the Lord shortly after 8 p.m. Friday May 4, 2018. He had a long struggle with congestive heart failure, and he had a peaceful passing and is now resting in Paradise in the presence of his Lord. He was born October 1, 1941 in Bassett to the late William Green "Bill" Hill Sr. and Eva Turner Hill. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister, Brenda Kuykendall.

Wally was a graduate of Bassett High School, Class of 1959, and played on the 1959 Virginia State Championship Basketball Team. After high school he played professional baseball, and he earned a BS Degree from Piedmont Bible College in Christian Studies. Wally spent over 50 years involved in Christian Ministry to include pastoral duties, and most recently Bible distribution to churches and individuals.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy K. Hill of the home; three daughters, Penny Massey and husband Eric of Cary, N.C., Holly Williams and husband Steve of Mebane, N.C., and Sherry Hill of Greensboro, N.C.; one brother, Bill Hill Jr. of Bassett; four grandchildren, Morgan Massey, Courtney Straughn, Meredith Massey, and Nathaniel Williams.

Wally's graveside service will be Tuesday May 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive family and friends on Monday May 7, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Roselawn Chapel. Online condolences may be entered at www.roselawnchapelfuneralhome.com.
