daughter of the late J.B. Heater and Emma McCartney Heater. On August 25, 1926, she was married to Forrest O. Allman, who preceded her in death May 12, 1972.
Surviving are one granddaughter; Katherine Gordon Taylor, one grandson; Jon Stephen Gordon, four great grandchildren, five nieces and one nephew.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by one daughter; Heleena Allman Gordon, one brother William W. Heater, one sister; Margaret Burns, three half brothers and three half sisters, and one son in law; Dr. Daniel B. Gordon.
She was a graduate of Sutton High School with the class of 1924,and attended Glenville State College. She was a schoolteacher in the Braxton County schools and a substitue teacher in Tucker County during World War II. She practiced nursing as an LPN at the former Tucker County Hospital at Parsons until retiring. She was an active member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church at Parsons since 1939. She was a noted cook, gardener and she had a great love for the game of dominoes.
She was nicknamed by her father and has been called
"Jack" by those close to her.
