Clarence Curtis Dies at Home

The death of Clarence D. Curtis occurred unexpectedly about noon Tuesday Oct. 25, 1966 at his home on Route 11 north of Pulaski. He was 79.

Mr. Curtis was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army Engineer Corps. He was employed for many years by the Stevens Milling and Feed Company of Lacona and during that time also operated a small farm on the Smartville Road.

About 20 years ago he sold this and bought a larger farm on Route 11 north of Pulaski. He retired from farming seven years ago.

He was a member of Sandy Creek Grange and a former member of Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358 of Pulaski. Congenial and interested on people, Mr. Curtis had an unusually wide circle of friends who enjoyed his company and who will miss his cheerful outlook on life.

He was born in Allegany County Dec. 5, 1886, and was ithe son of Ennis and Hattie Littlefield Curtis. He married Miss Celia Stowell of Lacona and for awhile after their marriage they lived in Belfast, Allegany county.

He is survived by Mrs. Curtis and by one son, Berton E. Curtis of Pulaski, also several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Taylor funeral home an Pulaski from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. The funeral will be held there at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Wesleyan cemetery, Lacona
