Jerry Lynn Whitley, 72 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, April 18, 1946 in Rutherford, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Edward Ray Whitley and the late Lois Houston Whitley. He was a retired truck driver for Reelfoot Packing Company and Volunteer Express and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Tennessee Army National Guard.
A celebration of life service for Mr. Whitley will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 3:30 PM in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Mrs. Reachel Whitley Hudgins. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery in Rutherford, Tennessee.
He is survived by one son, Jon Whitley of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Reachel Whitley Hudgins (Jonathan) of Troy, Tennessee; three sisters, Farra Bell of Dyer, Tennessee, Carolyn Finch of Dallas, Texas and Myra Enders of Waterford, Michigan and four grandchildren, Whitley Cowan, Molly Whitley, Rebekah Hudgins and Avery Hudgins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Houston Whitley, William Halder Whitley and Donald Whitley and one sister, Lou Alice Jackson.
