Janet Elaine Whitehead, 74, passed away on May 5, 2018 in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held from 6pm until 8pm Sunday May 6, 2018 and again from 10am until the 11am funeral on Monday May 7, 2018, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will be at New Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Gloster, MS.

Janet was born in Columbia, MS to the late Thomas and Lucille Berry. She was a longtime resident of Jackson. Janet enjoyed watching bull riding and the Gaither Band on TV. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Janet was also an avid reader.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ann Forbes, and a grandchild, Laynee Kat Whitehead. She is survived by her husband, Terry Whitehead of Jackson; son Derek (Becky) Whitehead of Florence; daughters, Janna (Doyel) Chain of Mt. Olive and Stacey (Zeke) Crimm of Byram; brother, Herbert Berry of Improv; sister Peggy Rayburn of Prattville, AL; and grandchildren, Brianna Hall, Lyndsey Hall, Mia Hollingsworth, Taylor Goff, Gracie Whitehead, and Blaine Robertson.
