Dennis was born October 3, 1957, in Des Moines, to James and Ruth (Bonner) Garland. He was raised in Waukee and graduated from Adel High School. Dennis worked for Graham Group as a Valet Parker at Mercy West Clinic in Clive. He was an avid Garth Brooks and Nebraska Cornhusker fan.
Dennis is survived by his two sisters, Linda Juckette of Cumming, IA and Marcia (Craig) Derby of Johnston, IA; two nieces Erin (Jeremy) Hunt of Dallas, TX, and Jolie Juckette of Des Moines; four nephews, Ryan (Jennifer) Derby of Grimes, Logan (Ally) Derby of Bellvue, NE, Cole Juckette of Lincoln, NE, and Adam (Lisa) Juckette of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents.
