Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. David Hebert, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Charlotte Jagneaux, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be Be Not Afraid, The Lord Is My Shepherd, Hail Mary Gentle Woman, Old Rugged Cross, and Jouir La Vior Un Jour.
Mrs. Prejean was a native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church. She was also a member of St. Anne's Society at St. Peter's Catholic Church, as well as bookkeeper for the Sisters of the most holy sacrament convent in Lafayette for over 5 years. Mrs. Prejean enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, and feeding the birds.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Jude Prejean and his wife, Melissa, of Lafayette, and Peter Damien Prejean and his wife, Jamie, of Duson; two daughters, Debra Trahan and her husband, David, of Carencro, Suzanne Richard and her husband, Mike, of Lafayette; her former daughter-in-law and friend, Nell Prejean; one sister, Mrs. Arline Morris of Lafayette; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and her best friend, her cat, Precious.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Prejean; her parents, Terry Prejean and the former Agnes Prejean; three brothers, Ray Prejean, Patrick Prejean and Elias Prejean; two sisters, Mrs. Judith Breaux and Evelyn Prejean; one great grandchild; and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Christian Brugman, John Daigle, Amos Daigle, Jacobe Daigle, Blayne Prejean and Joshua Cuellar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Trahan, II., Blake Trahan, Jamie Trahan, Justin Trahan and Joey Cuellar.
