John was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 30, 1927. He was the son of Joseph Walter Kordik and Eleanor Regan Kordik. In 1949, he married Bessie Baba in Chicago. John and Bessie spent the first ten years of their marriage in Illinois before moving their growing family to Dayton, Ohio.

John enjoyed music and as a child learned to play the violin. As a young adult he sang in the church choir, and in his later years learned to play the keyboard. He enjoyed tending to his fruit trees, vegetables, and flowers. He led a very active life, enjoying golf, bowling, and painting. John retired from business management with the E.F. MacDonald Company, and as an avid life learner and perpetual student, he began to study Mind Power, both conscious and subconscious. He was an expert in the positive thought process, psychological and inspirational theories and principles. For several years he taught classes in the Senior Adult Education Program at the University of Dayton on “how to feel good about yourself and create your own destiny”. He had a passion for travel and traveled with Sea Angels, where he would speak on positive ways to put more into your life. John was an attuned Reiki Master / Practitioner / Teacher and also did Chakra Energy Balancing. He held certificates in Quantum Touch, Basic Acupressure, and Hypnosis. He believed in and lived each day with the power of positive thought, a strong faith, and a good sense of humor. He enjoyed life every day and wanted to “wear out, not rust out”. John was a strong family man and unconditional in his love and support of his family. He was well loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
