One of our oldest and best known citizens, Adam D Chronister has died. The summons was recieved at 9 o'clock this morning, March 5, 1905, death being due to partial stroke of paralysis, complicated with an infection of the brain. In 1844, accompanied by his parents, he moved to this state and county, where he ever afterwards recided. During the late "unpleasantness" he identified himself with the side of the lost cause and made a true and valiant soldier, While he never identified himself with the Church, he was a professed Christian, and died with the hope of life beyond. Funeral services were held at the Hillis Cemetery, with Masonic honors. Surviving is the bereaved wife, 7 children, 1 brother, and 3 sisters. He was a confederate solder.

(Johns second wife was Elizabeth, they where married on 1-13-1859 in Pope County, Arkansas.)

Thanks, Linda
