Roger D. Nicholson, 86, Confluence, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at home. He was born October 19, 1931 in Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., a son of Charles and Oretta Christina (Rugg) Nicholson. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, grandson, Westley Roger Nicholson, brothers, Alvin, Gabriel, Reese “Si”, and Rampsey and sisters, Leesta “Bruce” Lichty, Elva Hoover, Vilda Holliday, Norma Snyder and Joyce Porterfield. He is survived by his wife, Madeline (Holliday), sons, Donald, Confluence, Jeffrey and wife, JoElla, Georgia and Deric, Addison and daughters, Rita Smith and companion, Charles, Pocahontas, Betty Cox, Salisbury, Paulette Mitchell and companion, George, Confluence, Lori Schroyer and husband, Jason, Confluence, and Iva Maust and husband, Leonard, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Also, a sister, Alcinda Shaffer and husband, James, Apollo. Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved finding and picking four leaf clovers. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Saturday and again from 11:30 AM till 1:30 PM Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 1:30 with Rev. Allan McKeown officiating. Interment in Silbaugh Cemetery.
