A.M. DARLING, early pioneer of Douglas County , MN, passed away May 15, at his home in Garvin, OK, after five months of intense suffering. He was one of the best known citizens of McCurtain County, Ok, moving to Bokhome, OK, in 1904. He moved to Garvin in 1906.

A.M. DARLING was born in Oshkosh, WI, July 14,1850, but early moved to the banks of Lake Darling near Alexandria, [MN] where he grew to manhood. He was made a Master Mason in 1874 and in 1875 married Ella P. RICHARDS of Alexandria, MN, From this union one son, A. M. DARLING Jr. of Fort Smith, Ark. survives. A sister, Theresa, Mrs R. VICKERMAN preceeded him in death. In 1902, he was married to Miss Alice BROWN, of Alexandria, [MN] who with one young son, Donald, resides at Garvin, OK. He was buried at Idabel, the funeral was under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge from the First Presbyterian church. The many beautiful floral offerings and large number that followed to his last resting place testified to the esteem in which he was held by friends an neighbors.
