BLANCHARD, LA- Memorial services will be conducted for James Jay Baier, age 62 of Blanchard LA, at First Luthern Church of Shreveport, 2115 Line Ave, Shreveport, LA 71105, Monday April 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Seitz.

Mr. Baier entered into rest on Thursday April 12, 2007 at Willis Knighton Pierrmont after a couragous battle with cancer.

He was a native of Wayne, NE and lived in Caddo Parish for most of his adult life. Mr. Baier was retired from Swepco after 32 years and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father Otto Baier, sister LeAnn Baier, brother Randy Baier, and nephew Kent Baier.

Survived by his loving wife of 39 years Deanna Baier, his mother Ruth Baier of Wayne NE, two daughters; Anna Garrett and husband Patrick of Hosston, LA, and Rebecca Batts and husband Kory of Blanchard, LA, one sister; Ruth Ann Kardell and husband Terry of MN, one brother; Jerry Baier and wife June of NE, two grandchildren; Alex Craig Rogers Garrett and Katie Dee Batts, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
