Tulare - Jessie Mae Oliver-Parker, 94

Jessie Mae Oliver-Parker was born in Stecker, Oklahoma on March 27, 1924 to Robert Daniel and Truda Jessie Miller. She entered eternal life to be with her Lord on April 30, 2018. Jessie Mae Miller was reared in Apache, Oklahoma under the watchful eye of her parents and eight siblings, 7 brothers and a sister. Jessie had an exciting, but sheltered childhood. This Miller family was hardworking and devoted to one another. This lifestyle had a direct impact in forming Jessie's shy, compassionate, and mildly adventurous personality. Her Father, acknowledging a better life, allowed her to move to California with her brother's family in 1940, enrolling in Visalia High School for her junior year. Jessie Mae was married to Odell C. Oliver in 1942 until his passing in 1994, a span of 52 years. She married Richard Roscoe Parker in 1995 until his passing in 2010. Jessie was a great cook, excellent homemaker and after retirement discovered a hidden talent for oil painting, rendering beautiful works of art for all the family and friends. Two of her paintings hang in the State Capital in Sacramento. She was a Foster parent, Day care owner, Tulare City Schools Cook, Tulare County Instructional Aide for the Deaf, and most of all a loving Mother with deep pride in her children. This shy beautiful lady had a full life serving God and her fellow man. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, attending Blackstone Ave. as well as Mid-Valley on "E" St. She will be deeply missed and will leave her stamp of compassion and unconditional love on all she knew. She is survived by her children; Shirley (Richard) Drake, Tulare CA, Larry Oliver, Tulare, CA, Bob (Natalie) Oliver, Tulare, CA; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Vernice Miller, Odie Miller, Wade Miller, Albert Miller, Ray Miller, Cooper Miller, Harold Miller, Opal Dailey, her stepmother Ellen Hansen-Miller, and her grandson Jared Oliver predeceased Jessie Mae. Jessie's family would like to thank the staff at Twin Oaks for their warmhearted kindness and compassion in caring for their Mother. The family will receive friends for a viewing on Monday May 7, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Peers-Lorentzen Funeral Home, 132 W. Kern Ave. Tulare, CA. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mid-Valley Church of Christ, 358 N. "E" St. Tulare, CA.
