Woody loved his family and his church. He enjoyed sports, volunteering at the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and was a life long blood donor. Woody joined the United States Army in September of 1950. He trained in the medical field and was assigned to a Army Hospital in Battlecreek, Michigan. He served two years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He was employed at 1st National Bank and later served as a counselor for the State of Ohio Board of Education.
