MEECHAN John Hugh, aged 81 years, peacefully at Mount Vale Care Home, Northallerton on October 3, formerly of Brough Park. Dearly loved husband of the late Barbara, much loved father of Andrew and Joanne and loving grandfather to Joshua. Funeral Service to be held at St. Mary's Church, Bolton-on-Swale on Friday, October 13 at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired for The Rutson Unit Charitable Fund, Friarage Hospital may be sent care of John Blenkiron & Sons Ltd Funeral Directors, Victoria House, 21 Queens Road, Richmond, DL10 4AJ. He was the son of James Meechan and Susan Harker, whose marriage was registered at Richmond, North Riding, in the 4th quarter of 1931. James Meechan was presumed killed in 1940 and is listed on the Dunkirk Memorial. Susan Meechan remarried, and her ashes were interred in Bolton-on-Swale Churchyard in 1991, near the grave of her parents.
