Charles L. Burkett, Jr., age 75, of Bristolville, passed away after a brief illness at the Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Born in 1942, in Warren, the son of Charles L. Sr. and Thelma (Daugherty) Burkett, Chuck graduated from Leavittsburg High School in 1960. He joined the U.S. Navy after graduation and served four years. Chuck worked at Republic Steel for a short time and then was hired at Packard Electric, where he retired after 32 years.

He didn’t like retirement, so he worked at Country Neighbor in Orwell for three years. But his very favorite job was driving for the Amish community.

Chuck enjoyed boats, camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed the morning coffee crew at Quinn’s, and loved arguing his point.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia McGann Burkett; daughter Debra and grandson Andrew of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepsons, Ron (Linda), Terry (Sandy); one stepdaughter, Kim (Michelle); nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; a sister, Dee; and a son, Jeffrey.

Per his request, cremation has taken place. Services are 4:00 pm Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home. Friends may call 3:00 to 4:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Sager Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please do a good deed, and pay it forward.
