Mr. Coon, whose death was noted last week, passed away at the family home on August 10. His parents were Peter Coon and Abigail Steele of Sandy Creek. He was drafted for the war of the Rebellion in 1865 and was married to Miss. Lydia Orton in 1856, who survives with six chrildren, this being the first break in the family circle. The children are: W.H. Coon of Lacona, Oren Coon of Pulaski, M.J. Coon of Richland, F.A. Coon of Oswego, Mrs. H.L. Chawgo of Maple Avenue and Mrs. Julia Van Alstine of Lacona. He is survived by one brother, Nathan Coon of Sandy Creek, four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
