Ora Guilliams Hale, 96, of Rocky Mount, died Saturday April 14, 2007 at Franklin Health Care. She was born January 16, 1911 in Franklin County, a daughter of the late William "Will" and Pencie Cooper Guilliams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Roy Hale, Sr., two sons, Cecil Edward Hale, James "Billy" Hale, two grandchildren, Michael Wayne Hale, Gregory Steven Hale, five sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Hale was retired from Bassett Chair Company. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence Eugene and Clara Hale, Roy Ernest, Jr. and Hazel Hale, Diane Trout Hale, all of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Lillian Hale Guilliams. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Mike Lawhorn officiating. Interment will follow in the Hale Family Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Henry Community Center/Henry Volunteer Fire Department, 5241 Henry Road, Henry, Va. 24102. Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday, with her family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
