Roy William Gann, 75, of Williford, AR, died Feb. 26, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born, Jan. 31, 1929, in Sitka, AR, he was the son of Carrie Logan Gann and William Gann.
He worked at a timber mill at a young age until he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Gann, of Williford; a son, Mark Gann of Bentonville, AR; a daughter, Marline Rutledge, of Williford, AR; two brothers, Donald Gann of St. Charles, MO, and Thomas Howard Gann of Jonesboro; two sisters, Wanda Aldridge of O'Fallon, MO, and Dorothy Davis of Chicago, IL; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and his parents.
The funeral service was Feb. 29 at Heath Funeral Home, Oak Hill Chapel in Hardy with John Bussard and Tom O'Neal officiating. Burial in the Buchanan Cemetery at Poughkeepsie. Arrangements were under the direction of Heath Funeral Home, Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy.
Pallbearers were Clinton Madison, Rob Madison, Rodney Despain, Calvin Pickett, Bryan Bettis and Nelson Murphy.
