Percy Belva Williams Jr., age 92 of Roswell, NM passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at home surrounded by the love of his family.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, May 4, 2018 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Interment at General Douglas McBride Cemetery with Chaplin Tim Arlett of Kindred Hospice will be officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the Roswell Honor Guard.

Percy Belva Williams was born in Oklahoma, and his family later moved to Hobbs, NM, where he began helping at Teague Dairy and later started driving trucks at the age of 16 for Hill Lines. One of his stops was in Tatum where he met a pretty little girl named Emma Robinson whom he married in 1945 on November 15th. Percy's career also included auto mechanics for Roswell Auto and Desmond Ford. Then he decided to go back to driving trucks for Navajo Freight Lines. He and his wife Emma had three children all born and raised in Roswell. He remained married to the love of his life for over 72 years before he went to his eternal home.

Percy is survived by his wife, Emma Williams; three children, Tommy Ray Williams and wife Dixie of McKinney, TX; Trudy Rene Reed and husband Steve of The Colony, TX; Betty Susan Dunn and husband James of Roswell, NM; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, countless family and friends, and many lawnmowers needing to be fixed. Most importantly he made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in 1952. He lived his life honoring his Lord by loving his family and serving others selflessly.

Percy was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Williams, Sr. and Mary Fay; brothers, Wayne Williams, Carl Williams, Ruller Williams, Leo Williams; sisters, Eva Teague and Dean Riley.

Serving as pallbearers are Sean Williams, Cole Williams, Tim Williams, Joshua Dunn, Noah Reed, Jeremi Dunn, and Josiah Dunn.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations in his honor made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati OH, 45250-0301or The American Legion, P.O. Box 361626, Indianapolis, IN, 46236-1626.
