GRANGER - Patricia L. Baker, 88, passed away peacefully in the late afternoon Monday, April 30, 2018 in Granger. Pat was born November 3, 1929 in Peru, IN to the late Arthur Gothard and Vera Roby. Pat was wed to Robert Wade on September 20, 1953 until his untimely passing on June 5, 1965. On October 19, 1968, Pat was married to Fred Baker. He was a loving father and husband to Pat and her children for nearly 40 years until his passing on January 30, 2007. Pat's center focus and reason for being was absolutely her family. She was always involved in her children's academics, extracurricular activities, and making beautiful memories with them. All the support and love she gave to her children spilled-over with her grandchildren as well. She was spotted in the crowd whenever they had a dance recital, play, or sporting event. Pat also loved to dance in her younger years. While she and Fred were dating, they went out to dance whenever they had an opportunity. Pat was an only child, but inherited many brothers and sisters-in-law by marriage and enjoyed them immensely as traveling companions. She was appreciative when she had visitors, loved to be surrounded by those who loved her, and always made people in her presence feel loved. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Pat is survived by her son, Martin (Laurie) Wade; daughters, Casey (Terry) Patterson Hale, Linda Hinkle, and Lori Thielka, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 3 from 5 pm-8 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola. Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Friday, May 4 at Chapel Hill, with Pastor Jimmy Fleshman to officiate. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery located in Fairmount, IN.
