Glenn Harrison Dagley passed away peacefully on April 30, 2018, at the age of 64. He was born on January 16, 1954, in Lubbock, TX to Elbert and Evelyn Dagley and moved to Houston when he was 5. He graduated from North Shore Senior High School in 1972 and attended The University of Texas at Austin. During college, he met and married Melanie Bowers in 1975. He and his family were long-time residents of North Shore, where he, along with his brother and father, began D&D Tax Service and operated a self-service car wash for many years. He was also active in a number of civic activities - every year you could find Glenn coaching his children’s baseball and basketball teams. Later in life, he took great joy in coaching his grandkids as well.

Glenn’s love for sports started as a child and never ended. He especially loved basketball and passed that love on to his sons. That love was most prominently on display during March Madness, where he sponsored a family contest and involved everyone young and old.

He most especially loved spending time with his family. He was very close with his in-laws, Adrian and Naomi Bowers, and was found virtually every Sunday playing games like 42 at their house with his children and extended family. He often hosted family get-togethers, where he excelled at cooking hamburgers, boiling seafood of all sorts and pushing unsuspecting victims into his pool. He also loved fishing with his children and grandchildren.

Glenn’s faith in God was most important to him. He was a faithful member of the Baytown Church of Christ, where he was an active participant in the work of the Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Evelyn Dagley.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Melanie Bowers Dagley; sister Beverly Yeager and husband John; brother Eugene and wife Becky; sons and daughters-in-law Jeremy and Jennifer Dagley, Justin and Kristin Dagley, Jeffrey and Jessica Dagley and daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Patrick Robinson, beloved grandchildren Peyton, Hayden, Harrison, Parker, Henley, Hampton, Ryann, Palmer and Camden, as well as, mother-in-law Naomi Bowers.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Navarre Funeral Home on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Brad Benoit officiating. Burial will follow at the Barber Family Cemetery in Barbers Hill, TX.
