Richard D. "Dick" Fenstermaker, 87, of Napoleon, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Henry County Hospital. He was born on October 30, 1930 in Westhope, Ohio to the late Dana and Evelyn (Jennings) Fenstermaker. He was previously married to Bonnie Beavers.
Dick was a telephone repairman and worked for the McClure Telephone Company and United Telephone, Napoleon. He was also a jack of all trades and handyman for many neighbors and friends over the years. He was a volunteer fireman for Damascus Township Fire Department and a member of the McClure Post of the American Legion. He was a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his children, C. "Dikki" (Jerry) Bowman of Fort Myers, Florida, Rick Fenstermaker of Deshler, Ohio, Jenny (Dallas) Critchet of Arcadia, Ohio, Leslie (Mike) Nagel of McClure, Ohio, Darel "Buck" (Linda) Fenstermaker of Napoleon, Ohio and Jamie (Brad) Kinder of Napoleon, Ohio; 14 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; siblings, Martha (James) Beavers, Barbara (Ralph) Brown, Phyllis Greenler, and Linda (Stan) Saxton. He was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and siblings, Robert, Fredrick, Dan, Ralph, and Larry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Hockman Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the McClure American Legion.
Visitation will be Friday, May 4th from 2-8 PM at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon with a Fireman's Last Call service at 7:00 PM and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Memorial donations are suggested to McClure Fire and Rescue, McClure American Legion, or Hospice of Henry County.
