Danbury - Mitchell Riley, age 71, of Danbury, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital Friday evening, April 27, 2018.
Born in Torrington, CT, August 28, 1946, son of the late Peter & Veronica (Carey) Riley. Mitch was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving his country as a member of the United States Army & was the recipient of a Purple Heart for bravery in combat.

He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans where he worked, the Disabled American Veterans & the VFW.

Mitch will be sadly missed by his daughter: Christina Andrews & her husband Michael, his sons: Sean & Alec Riley & his former wife: Kathleen Riley as well as his sisters: Carol Waite, Beth Ebner & Diane Kozak, his brothers: Peter & Dennis Riley, his many nieces & nephews & although not a brother by blood, Joe Kozak.
He was predeceased by his sisters: Judy Smith, Sue Jacob & Bonnie Banks & his brothers: Robert Riley & Brad Banks.

A Graveside Funeral service will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown immediately followed by burial with full Army honors.
A Celebration of Life will follow at The Catholic War Veterans, 2 Shalvoys Ln, Danbury at 2:00pm. Friends and Family are welcome.
