She was born August 22, 1927, in Rexburg, Idaho to Admiral Dewey Parker and Mae Smith Parker. She grew up in the area, attended Hibbard Elementary, and graduated from Madison High School. She also attended Ricks College and Idaho State University.
She married Delbert Vernon Chapple in Rexburg, Idaho. To this union were born five children: Suzanne, Patricia, Delbert, James, and Nola. Kathryn and Delbert were later divorced. Kathryn was a devoted mother and grandmother and also worked as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, reading, and loved entertaining the grandchildren.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (David) Falkingham of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Patricia (Clark) Silver of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Nola Kimbro Chappel of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Hugh Parker of Hibbard, ID; brother, Brent Parker of Plano, ID; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 4 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Bertt Chapple and Jim "Gump" Chapple; and four brothers, Lynn Parker, Gail Parker, Grant Parker, and Max Parker.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Sugar City Cemetery (1095 North 2000 East in Sugar City). The family will visit with friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) prior to departing for the cemetery.
