Carrie Vereen Simmons, 85, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Bolivia. Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 at Little Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Smith officiating. Burial will be in Galloway Cemetery. Viewing will be held from noon-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday, Aug. 17 one hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by her children, Sandra Massey and Chowan Simmons, both of Supply, George Vereen of New Haven, Conn., Rosa Randolph of Bolivia; and one brother, Clarence Vereen of Mocksville.
