EMILY, ROSCOE A., 78, died Saturday, April 14, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Yanner Emily. Survivors include his sons, Patrick Emily (Cindy) and Michael Emily; his daughters, Paula Emily (Keith Marcum), Jacquelyn Kaufman (James) and Janet Smith; his brother-in-law, Joe Yanner; and five grandchildren. His funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. -9 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home.

Roscoe A. Emily, 78, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at his home near Corydon.

A native of Harrison County, he was born July 8, 1928, to the late John and Lilly Perkins Emily.

He was a farmer, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, VFW Post 2950 in Corydon, Indiana Farm Bureau, Harrison County Soil & Water Conservation Board of Directors, Federal Land Bank, Harrison County Pork Producers, Harrison County Extension Board and PCARET Council, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Elizabeth Yanner; a son, William Patrick Emily; and a brother, Eldon Emily.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Emily and Michael Emily, both of Corydon; three daughters, Paula Emily and Jacquelyn Kaufman, both of Georgetown, and Janet Smith of Corydon; and five grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 17, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, April 17, at his church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Officiant: Father Dan Atkins.

Pallbearers: Doug Gibson, Ray Allen, Scott Akin, Kenneth and David Schmelz, Donald Wolfe, Gary Jacobi and Stanley Miller.

The family requests expressions of sympathy to the American Cancer Society.
