Robert E. "Bob" Pool went to his reward in heaven Friday, May 1, 2015.

Bob was born December 14, 1929 in Big Springs, TX, but spent most of his life in Conroe. A 1947 graduate of Conroe High School, Bob had many fond memories of playing on the Conroe Tiger football team.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War. Bob spoke often of his naval service and his primary duty station at Pearl Harbor.

Bob would meet many mornings with other veterans over coffee to share stories. A man of God, Bob loved the Lord with all his heart, attended services faithfully serving on the church board for many years.

Bob built a successful steel fabrication business in Conroe, supplying staircases and other structures to construction sites around the country. Lake Conroe resorts, The Woodlands, Kingwood and many other parts of southeast Texas were the beneficiaries of his products, of which he took a craftsman's pride in his work. After selling his business, Bob continued in a consulting capacity where he developed mutually respected relationships with all. Bob's hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating and travel as well as projects around him home. He enjoyed watching sporting activities, especially football. Bob enjoyed nothing more than gathering friends and family around for fellowship.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joyce C. "Joy" Pool, children Olivia Adams, Robert James "Jimmy" Pool, John Pool, Brian Young, Valerie Young, Judie Young Burnham and Karen Pool Valles.

Preceding Bob in passing are parents Alton Pool, Edna Pool Smith, stepfather James "Smitty" Smith, sister, Melba Pool, daughter Janet Wathen and granddaughter Jeannie Wathen.

Bob was blessed with many grandchildren, Jason, Livy Gail, April, Rose, Donnie, Justin, Amanda, Makinzy, Jared, Julia, Powell and Pierson as well as 13 great grandchildren.Bob was deeply loved by all who knew him. His wife Joy, the love of his life, knows Bob is now with the Lord of his life.
