OTTUMWA – Darlene F. "Tiny" Simmons, 71, formerly of 827 Albia Road, died at 11:52 a.m. Jan. 10, 2008, at Vista Woods Care Center.

She was born Oct. 27, 1936 in Mystic to William Harrison and Hallie Esther Cox Scott.

A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she had worked at Universal Rundle for over 20 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed her family, bingo, bowling and fishing.

Surviving is a son, Alan Simmons of Ottumwa; a daughter, Sheila Simmons of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Amy Shepard, Wesley Simmons, Cassandra Rork, Sasha Simmons, Virgil Simmons; three great-grandchildren, Dalton and Lea Simmons, Nolan Rork; a sister, Dorothy Burnett of Batavia; a brother, Dale Scott of Kevil, Ky.; a half-brother, Marshall White of Ottumwa; and a half-sister, Martha Adamson of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Simmons, three brothers, Richard Scott, Paul Scott and Gale Scott; three sisters, her twin Geraldine Musgrove, Marcia and Myra Scott; a half-brother, Carl White Jr.; three half-sisters, Lois, Sharon and Karen White.

Her body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Reynoldson officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
