Emmer M. Bridges, 77, a retired farmer and merchant, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday in Bluffton Community Hospital. Born April 5, 1887, in Virginia, he was a son of Benjamin and Margaret Bridges. In 1914 he married Florence Cool who survives.

Also surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Francis (Marie) Bishop of Pandora, Mrs. Ward (Ida) Miller of Manassas, Va., Mrs. Harold (Mary Ellen) Weaver of Rt. 5, Lima, Mrs. Park (Jane) Cherry of Rt. 2, Columbus Grove, Mrs. Norbert (Ruth) Wildermuth of Beaverdam, and Miss Leah Bridges at home, a son Willis, of Covington, a brother, W. C. Bridges of Lima, two sisters, Mrs. Harry Leedy of Lima and Mrs. Ella Helsey of Edenberg, Va., 25 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethern.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery.

Friends may call at Basinger Funeral Home, Bluffton, after noon Saturday.
