Annette Hightower Green passed away in her home in Ruston, LA on Monday, April 30, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends. Annette is now in heaven after a courageous battle against numerous medical ailments over the last few years.
Annette was born in Ruston, LA on October 25, 1944. In 1959 she married Willie Green. Willie and Annette were blessed with two children, Candee and Gary. In 1973, Annette lost her son Gary in a tragic accident. The loss of her son gave Annette a special gift to be able to console others in their time of need. The Holy Spirit filled Annette’s life and she was able to pass that spirit on to many others. The joy she brought back to people’s lives through prayer will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents, JT and Sug Hightower, step mother Elizabeth Warren Hightower, and son Gary Allen Green.
She is survived by her loving husband Willie, daughter Candee Anderson and husband Joe. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brittany Albritton (Chris), Grant Terry, Garrett Terry (Carla), Meaghan Anderson (Adam Shields), Christopher Anderson (Danielle), great-grandchildren: Anderson, Adeline, and Griffin Albritton, Carson, and Cameron Terry; sister Judy Watson and husband Gene; special family friend Radian and Margie Hennigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Green, Larry Jones, Allen Neel, Alex Neel, Sam Speed, Bolton Warren, Emory Watson, and Keith Watson. Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Hennigan and Jamie Hennigan.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sheila Mariano and caregivers Val Bridges, and Carrie Perry for their compassionate care of Annette.
Visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. A celebration of Annette’s life will be held at 10am at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, on Thursday, May 3, 2018. Interment will be held at Forrest Lawn in Ruston, LA
