John Jansen
Visalia - John Jansen passed away peacefully April 29, 2018 at the age of 90. John was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on July 12, 1927. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, his parents and his two sisters and their spouses.
He married Marjorie Broekzitter (another Amsterdammer) and together they immigrated to America in 1950, settling in New Jersey where John began a life- long career as an electrical contractor, forming Jansen Electrical Company. When he retired, John became an electrical inspector for the cities of Paterson, Hawthorne and North Haledon, New Jersey. In 2000 John and Marjorie moved to Visalia, CA to be closer to family.
John leaves 3 children- Jentine (Milo) Arkema of Minnesota, Joanne (Greg) Groen, John (Nancy) Jansen of California, grandchildren-Mara, Kate, John, Annette, Laura, Don, Leanne, Jennifer, Ben and Dan and 18 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Visalia Christian Reformed Church, 1030 S. Linwood in Visalia. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to Providence Christian College, 1539 E Howard St., Pasadena, CA 91104.
